Cookies

Last updated: 1 November 2026.

This is a cookie policy for a site with almost no cookies. I am writing it anyway, because “almost” is doing some work in that sentence and you should know which part.

What I set

Nothing. There is no login here, no basket, no saved preferences, no session to keep alive. Nothing I wrote stores anything on your device.

When you first arrive, a small banner asks what you are willing to accept. That banner is run by CookieYes, a consent service I pay nothing for. Being straight about it: your browser has to fetch the banner from CookieYes’ servers before it can appear, so they see your IP address and which browser you use — the same as Google Fonts further down this page, and the same as the company that hosts the site, which the privacy page goes through. What they do not get is anything about your visit beyond that: not which page you opened, not how long you stayed, and no identifier that follows you to another site.

When you answer it, CookieYes stores your answer in a cookie called cookieyes-consent on your device, so the banner does not ask again on every page you open. The cookie holds your choices and nothing else — no name, no email, no reading history, no identifier that follows you to another site. CookieYes keeps that choice for a year by default and then asks again, which is their way of making sure a consent from last winter is not still speaking for you. The banner’s own panel shows the exact lifetime in force right now; that panel is the live list and this page is the explanation.

In the strict sense this cookie is necessary: without it, the only honest way to respect your answer would be to forget it and ask you again on every single page.

Changing your mind

Reopen the banner from the small consent link it leaves on the page and give a different answer. Clearing cookies in your browser works too — it deletes the stored choice, and the banner will ask you again on your next visit as though you were new.

The video

Posts do not load the YouTube player until you tap play. Until then there is no YouTube iframe, no YouTube script and no YouTube cookie — only the still image of the video, which comes from YouTube’s image server and sets nothing.

Tapping play is the informed action. It loads the youtube-nocookie.com player, which holds back the advertising and profiling cookies, and from that point you are watching a YouTube video under Google’s rules. The consent banner does not stand in front of that button, because the button already is the choice.

Fonts

The two typefaces load from Google Fonts. That sets no cookie, but it does send your IP address to Google, and I would rather be straight about it than leave it out because it is not technically a cookie. The Privacy Policy has the longer version.

Analytics

There is no analytics on this site today. Nothing is counting you. If I ever add something that does, it goes behind this banner, off by default, and it gets listed here with its name and what it sets before it is switched on.

Questions

Write to hello@dariascozynest.com and I will answer. The Privacy Policy covers the rest — who sees what, and what you can ask me to do about it.
